Mariam Jasper (also called Calligraphy Stone, Arabic Stone, or Elephant Skin Jasper) is a fossiliferous limestone found primarily in the Himalayan region of India and Pakistan. Its distinctive patterns are created by fossilized shells and organic material within the limestone matrix. The name "Calligraphy Stone" refers to the script-like appearance of its markings. It's sometimes also called "Miriam Stone" or "Mary Stone" in reference to the Virgin Mary.
